T-shirt Heat Press Package

You want to start a t-shirt printing business with this package because not only you can profit from it but it also is very efficient.

It can create t-shirts for you in just less than 5 minutes (assuming you had practice). Here is the process:
a. Download your design from the Internet – approximately 2 minutes or less
b. Print the design in a dark transfer or light transfer paper (depends on what shirt you will use – light or dark colored shirts) – 1 to 2 minutes
c. Transfer the design by pressing it on the shirt using the machine (less than a minute)
d. Transfer done in 5 minutes or less

Of course, if you are to create your own design, it might take some time but as you can imagine, transferring a printed design only takes less than a minute and we can teach you the steps on how to get a successful transfer.

Light transfers (Php 40 each) are only used for light colored shirts like yellow and light blue. You print your design in mirror image (words and sentences are flipped horizontally and is not readable just like the word Ambulance is written in a hospital ambulance) and place the light transfer facing down (print faces down). While hot, peel off the backing and the transfer is done (design should now be readable if there were texts included). With light transfers, there is no need to cut the part where there was no print (i.e. the white part) because they will just melt on the fabric.

Dark transfers (Php 60 each) can be used for both light and dark colored shirts. The transfer gives a rubberized feel. You print the design normally (readable) then peel off the design before transferring using the heat press. The white part or the part where there is no print will be visible on the finished transfer unless you cut them off (some complicated designs are difficult to cut and you might need a desktop cutter for that – a machine that cuts paper with the shape you specified on its bundled software – used in making stickers as well – costs around 30-38k). We usually just use a pair of scissors to cut the design – works for most designs.

Sublimation Paper (Php 7 or 5 each) can be used effectively on dri-fit material gaya nung mga badminton shirts ng addidas at nike. Ang time para dito ay 1 minute pataas pero less than 2 minutes. Sublimation paper should only be used using sublimation ink. This works also on 70/30 polycotton. Likewise, with 70/30 polycotton, 70% makikita mo na result. Pero obvious naman na napakamura nitong papel na ito kaya advisable ito sa mga giveaways lang or sa election. Pero kung sa drifit din lang gagamitin, ito ang sure na lalabas na matingkad kase ang mga drifit ay 100% polymer.

Self-weeding Paper (Php 50 each) can be used only on light-colored shirts. Sublimation ink is used. Result is very much the same as sublimation technique but this is limited to vector graphics only and is applied to cotton shirts. Photographic designs does not provide a good result.

We suggest that you use pigment talaga sa dark transfer.

We have been experimenting constantly to create the best and durable transfers and we always update our clients on new materials and methods.

Although silkscreen is still undoubtedly more durable than transfers, there are several materials available for the heat press today in the US and are making their way in the Philippines. One example is the plastisol transfer which is a kind of transfer paper with a design created using silkscreen technology, thus making it durable. A person who has the machine and knows silkscreen will print your desired design using silkscreen and on to the transfer paper ready for you to press on your t-shirt. As of this writing, plastisol transfers are not yet available in the Philippines but when it arrives it will not come cheap but eventually it will. I’m sure there are other new materials for heat press that will come since heat press technology is a fairly new way of printing on fabric.

Please also understand that there are many things that silkscreen technology cannot do as compared to heat press i.e. photographic designs, designs with gradients, complex coloring, etc. In fairness to silkscreen, it is still the most practical method when creating t-shirts with simple designs such as letters only, and cartoon designs or drawings. We have a lot of clients who are experts in silkscreen but they find it necessary to buy the heatpress because of the demand for fast production of personalized t-shirts. Bukod pa dito, hindi ka pwedeng magpasilk-screen ng paisa-isa o maski pasampu-sampu na t-shirt lang.

The heat press can also be used in transferring designs in mousepads and even tiles. With mouse pads and tiles, you have to use a printer with sublimation ink which is only available on Continuous Ink Supply Systems for Epson. We suggest 4-color printers for sublimation because they are great with sublimation. Sublimation printing is also used in WHITE polysynthetic shirts only (i.e. jerseys and basketball uniforms). You just print it on a sublimation paper (Php
7 or 5 each) and then press the design on polysynthetic fabric. As you may have noticed, sublimation printing on shirts is limited on white polysynthetic fabric only. You also use sublimation paper for tiles and mousepads. Sublimation ink is also used in mug pressing.
In Megamall or even in MOA, t-shirt done in press usually costs around Php 400 to Php 500 because of the fact that it is personalized. They charge this kind of amount even if you only want several letters pressed on the shirt.

In our case, we press shirts for Php 150 to 200, but we only use half the size of A4 transfer. If its full sized A4, it’s going to be Php 250. If full back to back, it’s going to be Php 350. It will always depend on your own decision on how to market and price the items. As long as you know how much the materials cost and the effort involved, you can easily calculate the worth of your product. If you want to create your own brand of t-shirt, you can easily do that but still you have to focus on marketing them and then you can price them higher.

Ask lang po if regular ink from inkjet printers can be used for the Dark and light transfer papers?

  • alunsina said:

Preferably, you should use pigment ink for dark and light transfers since pigment is water proof as opposed to regular ink.

Question.. I've seen shirts with transferred designs on it.. and in time it cracks and peels off.. Does ur transfer paper, heat press package + the epsonT10 with pigment ink have the same effect? Thank u!

  • cissmanila (author) said:

almost all transfer papers are the same. some are more long lasting than others but i believe that what spells the difference is the technique and knowhow in pressing. ;)
